Each Meridian Africa Foundation program is built around a clear purpose, defined activities and expected outcomes.

Purpose: Keep vulnerable children in school and improve literacy outcomes.

Objectives: Reduce school dropout; improve reading levels; support families with school-related costs.

Activities: School fee support, learning-material distribution, after-school mentorship and literacy clubs.

Beneficiaries: Children and youth in under-resourced districts.

Expected outcomes: Higher school retention and improved literacy scores within two years.

Purpose: Improve preventive health knowledge and access to basic care.

Objectives: Reduce preventable illness; increase maternal health awareness; expand outreach clinic access.

Activities: Mobile outreach clinics, hygiene and nutrition education, maternal health workshops.

Beneficiaries: Families, pregnant women and children in rural districts.

Expected outcomes: Fewer preventable illnesses and higher use of maternal health services.

Purpose: Build durable household income through skills and enterprise.

Objectives: Increase household income; build vocational skills; strengthen small-enterprise viability.

Activities: Vocational training, micro-enterprise mentoring, savings-group facilitation.

Beneficiaries: Adults and households facing income insecurity.

Expected outcomes: New or strengthened income streams for participating households.

Purpose: Strengthen food systems and household nutrition.

Objectives: Improve crop resilience; reduce household food insecurity; improve nutrition knowledge.

Activities: Climate-resilient farming training, seed and input support, nutrition education.

Beneficiaries: Farming households and their communities.

Expected outcomes: More reliable harvests and improved household nutrition.

Purpose: Expand economic and leadership opportunities for women.

Objectives: Increase women's income; build leadership skills; strengthen women's savings groups.

Activities: Vocational and business training, mentorship circles, access to micro-finance.

Beneficiaries: Women and women-led households.

Expected outcomes: More women running sustainable income-generating activities.

Purpose: Equip young people with leadership and life skills.

Objectives: Build youth leadership capacity; expand peer-education networks; reduce youth unemployment.

Activities: Leadership training, peer-educator certification, career mentorship.

Beneficiaries: Young people aged 15–29.

Expected outcomes: A growing network of trained youth leaders and peer educators.

Purpose: Resolve and prevent community-level conflict.

Objectives: Facilitate dialogue; build local mediation capacity; reduce recurrence of disputes.

Activities: Facilitated community dialogue, mediator training, conflict-early-warning networks.

Beneficiaries: Communities experiencing or at risk of conflict.

Expected outcomes: Sustained agreements and reduced conflict recurrence.

Purpose: Raise awareness of rights and support access to protection.

Objectives: Increase rights literacy; connect at-risk individuals to referral pathways.

Activities: Community awareness sessions, referral partnerships, advocacy campaigns.

Beneficiaries: Individuals and groups facing rights violations.

Expected outcomes: Greater awareness of rights and improved access to support services.

Purpose: Protect the natural resources communities depend on.

Objectives: Reduce deforestation; improve waste management; build environmental awareness.

Activities: Reforestation drives, waste-management training, environmental education in schools.

Beneficiaries: Communities and local ecosystems.

Expected outcomes: Measurable reduction in environmental degradation in target areas.

Purpose: Reduce harm from unsafe chemical handling in agricultural communities.

Objectives: Improve safe-handling practices; reduce chemical-exposure incidents; build local preparedness.

Activities: Safety training (building on 2019 ECOWAS-related training), storage and disposal guidance, community awareness sessions.

Beneficiaries: Agricultural workers and surrounding communities.

Expected outcomes: Fewer chemical-exposure incidents and safer storage practices.
